Advocates for Family Peace (AFFP) offers three types of housing for our clients:

Safe Emergency Housing
Transitional Housing
Shared Housing

SAFE EMERGENCY HOUSING

Safety First

Safe Emergency Housing is available on a temporary basis to meet the immediate safety needs of women and their children in emergency situations.

Services Provided in Safe Emergency Housing

There is no charge for using AFFP’s safe emergency housing. We can also assist clients with issues regarding:

Medical attention
Transportation
Food
Clothing
Child Care

AFFP provides information on other housing choices that may be available; this includes relocation.

AFFP staff also refer and accompany women to other agencies for specific needs.

TRANSITIONAL HOUSING

A Program with Privacy

AFFP provides affordable housing to help women and their children stabilize their lives. AFFP has three apartments with different floor plans and sizes for women with children who have experienced domestic abuse.

More Than Just a Place to Live

Transitional housing provides residents with a support system as well as affordable accommodation.  Residents are expected to sign and abide by a program contract and attend weekly housing meetings.  Women living in transitional housing may also work closely with an advocate on planning the next steps for their lives and the lives of their children.  Residents may stay in transitional housing for up to two years.

SHARED HOUSING

A Shared Experience

AFFP’s shared housing facility provides a living situation with a positive, supportive household of women and children with similar life experiences.

Program Services and Benefits

Shared housing is a program through AFFP that offers communal living with goals and rules similar to transitional housing.

AFFP’s shared housing facility is a fully furnished four-bedroom home with a large yard for children to play. The home has a large kitchen and living area that is shared by all residents. Women and children share household responsibilities and work together on indoor and outdoor chores.
